After the lecture today, I started thinking about something.. Do we have different trends when it comes to handwriting? When I was still in school, I remember how all the girls (me included) used to change our handwriting almost every week. Everyone wanted to be able to write with exactly the same handwriting as their friend. I think this is a girly thing, but it has resulted in me having several different styles of handwriting, which I still change from time to time...
What do you think?

Handwriting is a great topic to identify - it's fascinating. Are there gender differences in handwritten typography? Can you deliberately change it or are you just altering aspects or details and there's always a central, visual, core that'll stay the same?
ReplyDeleteThere's a reference or two in the reading list that you might want to followup? I'll forward you a list of references from a book chapter that i've written about handwriting. Do you think we'll eventually lose handwriting as a skill in communication? Will we ever move away from an analogue world?
